What am I best at? What is my one unique specialty? What was I sent here to do? To tell you the truth, I ask myself these questions every day. They are WORTH asking yourself every single day, until one day, you may finally discover that one thing, the one unique passion, your true purpose in life. The day you do will have to be the biggest turning point in your life, as you will have a profound sense of clarity about your future journey, as well as your ultimate destination. Once this happens… well, you know the drill… focus on your core competency, outsource everything else ;-) … best wishes.

“Those Who Stay Will Be Champions”

Bo Schembechler, Michigan Football Coach

Let go of your need for immediate gratification. When taking up a new career path, a new sport, a new relationship, starting a new business, any activity really, do not expect success to come in the first few days, weeks, months, maybe years even. Sometimes it may, and if it does, be happy about it. And when it doesn’t… well, just make sure that whatever it is you are doing is enjoyable to you, to make sure that you can in fact enjoy the journey, even if the ideal destination you have in mind will not be reached for a long time, if it is ever reached at all. How long do you actually HAVE to stay for… well, Bo never made that very clear. However, if you are willing to give it your all, and stay for however long it takes, even if it takes the entirety of your life, you are probably doing something that you love, something that’s worth doing for YOU, and something you are probably pretty good at.

Stay on your path, pursue it with passion, and good luck to you.

“People all grow up to die.” – System of a Down

“The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity.” – Leo Tolstoy

I wish that one day, sometime soon, I would just wake up and be a billionaire (who doesn’t?). I hate having to “work” for a living. The whole concept seems totally counterintuitive to me. Why can’t I just move to Monaco already, live out my life on a yacht in the peaceful harbor, be a good host to friends and relatives, challenge strangers to battles of wits, read Balzac, Tolstoy, and Dostoevsky, write more blogs such as this one, hold heated discussions about minorities and other racy issues (JUST KIDDING!), smoke cranberry hookah and drink fine Belgian beer, host lavish parties from dusk till dawn, and make this lifestyle a part of my every day reality, rather than a mere dream I keep playing over and over in my mind just before I have to crack open my eyes at 7:30AM every weekday morning. What indeed is the point of life? Many say “children.” What an evil joke, however, god is playing on us, forcing every new generation of humans to grow, learn, and practice the same boring skills necessary for self-sustenance and survival, rediscovering the same ideas, over and over again. Where is this all headed, and why must I be a part of it? I believe that we all deserve our own little piece of paradise, and deep in my heart, I trust that we can all have it, that and a quiet peace of mind for the short amount of time we’ve been allotted on this planet, to take life in with great big breaths of wonderful, instead of short gasps of suffering merely to endure, and never really to begin to live. How do I manifest my dreams… and do it quickly?

Go for what you want with all you’ve got. Live your life with no excuses, no regrets. March 8, 2008

Yes, I believe that this is one of the fundamental keys to personal fulfillment. There are more.
